Portsmouth Sports Club Rolled to a 96-76 win

Bill Clark scores 21 points in P.I.T. victory

Portsmouth Sports Club opened an 18-point halftime lead as they cruised to a 96-76 win over Mike Duman Auto Sales in third quarterfinal contest of the Portsmouth Invitational. They will advance to Friday's semifinal for a 9 o'clock game.

John Holland of Boston University led all scorers with 23 points as he made eight of 12 shots from the field. Bill Clark from Duquesne scored 19 of his 21 points in the first half as he made his first five 3-pointers. Hoemtown hero Vernon Macklin, who played high school basketball at Portsmouth Norcom, had 19 points and 12 rebounds. He had the dunk of the tournament as he slammed the ball over Justin Holiday. Will Coleman of Memphis had 12 points and five blocked shots. Villanova's Corey Fisher dished ten assists.

Gary Johnson of Texas led Mike Duman Auto Sales with 16 points. Durrell Summers from Michigan State had 14 points, while Pittsburgh center Gary McGhee added 13 points and eight caroms. Virginia Tech guard Malcolm Delaney added 12 points and six assists.
