Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Gets Only One Bid

Once again Duquesne ended up on the sidelines when the NCAA men's soccer tournament matchups were announced Monday afternoon.

    College Soccer News had projected that the league would get one at-large bid to go along with the automatic slot to the conference champion, Rhode Island (13-7-2).

    The two teams in consideration were Saint Louis (9-5-5) and Duquesne (13-5-0). The Billikens were the runner-ups to the Rams, losing the finals game in a penalty shot shootout. The Dukes had been ranked as high as 13th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

    Neither Atlantic 10 team received one of the 25 at-large bids.

    There's good news and bad news for Rhode Island, the A-10's sole representaive. The good news: URI will take on Brown IN Providence, R.I., though at Brown's soccer field. The bad: If they win the Rams next game is against the number 1 seed in the tournament, Maryland.

    The ACC received eight bids, the Big East seven and the CAA -- three.
