The next James at Duquesne
The next James at Duquesne

Posted May 14, 2006

Late Saturday night, the breaking news about Duquesne's recruiting efforts was Stephen Wood's committment. Sunday night, a couple hours earlier this time, the Assoiated Press' Alan Robinson scores another scoop about a not-unexpected tranfer to Duquesne.

Duquesne alum Mike James had his best NBA season this past year playing for the Toronto Raptors. The only DU player in the NBA, and the first since Derrick Alston (1994-96), Mike will no longer be the only "James" on Duquesne's all-time roster.

In a move anticipated since Coach Ron Everhart came to the Dukes from Northeastern, sophomore 6-foot-10 Shawn James is transferring to Duquesne, according to an Associated Press release earlier this evening. Another scooop for Alan Robinson.
