Happy New Year

We at DuquesneSports, along with the Scout.com network, wish all a happy, healthy and enjoyable new year. For Duquesne University, may this year's successes continue and be even better.

Duquesne's basketball teams demonstrate the improvement the school has made. The men's team has a 9-3 record, one short of last year's total wins, and the women's team has tied last year's victories. Suzie McConnell-Serio's squad is 7-6.

Both teams are on the road Wednesday, January 2, 2008, for their first games this year, heading north to Lake Erie area towns. The men take on Bowling Green in their Anderson Arena and the women are facing Niagara at the Taps Gallagher Center. Both games will start at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Congratulations to those student-athletes whose schedules are complete, to the swimming squads who will shortly resume competition, and to those teams waiting for the spring season to start.

A special Happy New Year wish to Coach Schmitt and the 2008 football team that is moving on up to the scholarship Northeast Conference in the 2008-09 school year.

And thanks to our customers, Duquesne students, alums and fans and the folks who will join the family in the future.
