Christensen, who will be responsible for the coordination of all NCAA Division I, Atlantic 10 Conference and Duquesne University compliance procedures, officially joined the athletics staff on Monday, May 5.
Christensen, 34, comes to Duquesne after spending the past two years as the assistant director of compliance at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to that, he worked as the compliance coordinator at Duquesne for seven years.
"I'm pleased to have Rick back at Duquesne," said Amodio. "He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations. Rick's familiarity with the Atlantic 10 Conference as well as his preexisting relationships with many members of our coaching and administrative staffs should make the transition a smooth one."
A native of Doylestown, Pa., Christensen graduated from Robert Morris in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management. He completed his master's in education with a concentration in sport administration at Temple in 1999, while working as a graduate assistant in the Owls' athletic department. Rick and his wife, Wendy, reside in Cranberry Township, Pa. with their two-year-old daughter, Kacy.
