Duquesne staved off a charging Marist volleyball team for a 3-2 victory in the season opener early Friday afternoon in the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational at the Palumbo Center. Freshman Brittany Poling led four Red & Blue hitters in double digits with 15 kills and fellow first-year player Tricia Mullen had five service aces.
