Aaron Jackson shot a blistering 80 percent (20-for-25) from the field while averaging 27.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds in a pair of contests on the week.
Jackson, who leads Duquesne in scoring with 18.0 points per game, poured in a career-high 36 points on 15-of-17 shooting with five assists and four boards on Dec. 10 in Duquesne’s 95-74 win at Radford. His .882 field goal percentage tied the program’s single-game record.
He scored a team-high 19 points in the Dukes’ 68-63 loss to West Virginia on Dec. 13. The Connecticut native made 6-of-7 attempts (85.7%) from three-point range and was 9-of-11 (81.8%) from the charity stripe over the two contests.
The Dukes sole senior this season also paces the team with 5.8 assists and 2.7 steals and is second with 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 58.8 percent from the field, 40.0% from beyond the arc and 78.5% from the charity stripe.
Jackson joins two teammates who were cited by the conference for their performances: sophomore Damian Saunders was named co-player of the week on Nov. 30th and freshman Eric Evans was co-rookie on November 23, 2008.
This is the third A-10 Player of the Week award for Jackson who shares the honor with Temple's Dionte Christmas.
