Voynova led Jefferson College to the National Junior College Athletic Association championship game while posting a 34-1 overall record and a #1 national ranking this past season. A 2009 NJCAA Region XVI All-Conference Honorable Mention member, Voynova averaged 6.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore. In her two years with the Vikings, the team compiled a 66-4 record and back-to-back regional championships. She will have two years of eligibility at Duquesne.
"We are excited to have Diana join our Duquesne family," said head coach Suzie McConnell-Serio. "We believe that she will bring us much needed size, solid offensive skills and a winning mentality. Being a starter for a program that was 66-4 in the last two years as well as an Academic All-American makes her a perfect fit for our program."
While at Indianola under coach Ed Waldrup, Voynova was the Mississippi Private School Association most valuable player while leading the Lady Colonels to a district championship in 2007.
An Academic All-American who graduated from Jefferson Magna Cum Laude, Voynova intends on majoring in international business.
She is the fourth member of the 2009-10 Duquesne women's basketball recruiting class joining Jocelyn Floyd, Ahjah Hall and Carly Vendemia who signed in November.
