Duquesne University guard Jason Duty (Cranberry Township, Pa.), a junior with a 3.75 GPA, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Basketball Team.
Duty, who is working toward an accounting degree, leads the team with a .425 three-point field goal shooting percentage and is second on the Dukes with 37 three-pointers made. The non-scholarship player has started all 21 contests and is the fifth-leading scorer for 14-7 Duquesne at 8.3 ppg.
Duty will have his name placed on the national ballot, with the 2008-09 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Basketball Team to be released on Wednesday, February 25.
