Friday, Duquesne announced that the season finale, against Fordham, has been moved from Saturday afternoon on March 6th, to noon on Friday, March 5, 2009. And a former Duquesne coach this week joined the Rams as an assistant coach.   Full Story

Tonight at 8:15 p.m. EST the New England Patriots take on the Indianapolis Colts in the controlled atmosphere of the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana. One of the Pats' cornerbacks is Duquesne alum Leigh Bodden. Bodden, who was one of three Dukes inducted into the DU Sports Hall of Fame last month, will have the opportunity to introduce himself to a national NBC audience.   Full Story

Mt. Lebanon's Evan Pierce spent this past weekend in Staten Island on the Wagner campus. Pierce committed to the Northeast Conference school this summer. His official visit with Coach Deane et al. made him even more comfortable with that decision. He will sign a National Letter of Intent tomorrow, the first day of the NLI early signing period.   Full Story

Jimmy Sherwood, who was an integral component in Duquesne head coach Ron Everhart's so-called "1040" substitution program, last month signed with Division II Arkansas Tech of the Gulf South Conference. Sherwood left the Dukes last December after seeing limited action in two games.   Full Story

Duquesne sports hall of famer Joe Beimel was traded by the 32-71 Washington Nationals to the 56-47 Colorado Rockies for two right-handed minor league pitchers and $300,000. Beimel, a lefty, signed a one-year $2 million free agent contract this spring with Washington.   Full Story
